A simple graphical approach is to plot the cumulative
mean of the output data from a series of replications.
• It is recommended that at least 10 replications are
performed initially.
• As more replications are performed the graph should
become a flat line.
• The number of replications required is defined by the
point at which the line becomes flat.
• If the line is not flat, more replications are needed.
• As a rule of thumb, Banks et al. (2001) recommend that
the run-length is at least 10 times the length of the
warm-up period.
