The Bangkok Post reported a representative of the National Revolutionary Front (BRN) as telling security analyst Anthony Davis that the ongoing dialogue — initiated last May by the country’s junta — is “beyond repair” and that it would be better to scrap it in favour of a new initiative.
Davis — a consultant for IHS Jane’s group, who has covered the conflict for several decades — said he had had the rare opportunity to meet four BRN leaders “in a regional capital” last month.
The men said they belonged to the information department of the BRN and were speaking on behalf of the party leadership council, a rarely seen group at BRN’s helm.
