While this is the general pattern, in southern Spain twoadditional vegetative flushes can take place depending on thereproductive flush and the flowering stages. The first additionalflush appears if no inflorescences are produced in the branches. Thisflush occurs at the same time of the normal reproductive growthstage, in mid-spring to early summer, from April to June. A similarsituation has been reported in Australia (Diczbalis, 2002). A secondadditional flush can occur if all flowers, inflorescences or develop-ing fruitlets fall down due to adverse weather conditions or lackof pollination. This flush occurs in mid-summer to early autumn
