There is a staggering rise the number of old people, and it is not only the rising number of individuals. The elderly in the twenty-first century will live longer than ever before. It is estimated that next 20 years the global population of those aged 65 or more will almost double, from 600m to 1.1 billion. For the twentieth century, this shift would be a worrying trend. Living longer means more years in retirement than years at work. There will be many more pensioners which might bust government budgets.
