Factor analysis stage. Choosing the method of extraction in
a scale and the process of deciding how many factors it will
have are the most critical stages of the research (Steger, 2006).
The structural validity of the scale is important conclusions
have to be drawn from unobservable variables
For this reason
factor analysis is an important tool for measuring psychological
structures and for revealing validity problems (Hayton et al.,
2004; Henson and Roberts, 2006). Factor analysis is used to
obtain a limited number of significant and definable variables
from a number of variables which measure the same structure
(Bu¨yu¨ko¨ztu¨rk, 2002b, p. 118).
