he Intelligence Corps (also known as Int Corps) is one of the Corps of the British Army. It is responsible for gathering, analysing and disseminating military intelligence and also for counter-intelligence and security, so forming part of the United Kingdom intelligence community. The Director Intelligence Corps is a Brigadier.
Authority was given by Army Order 112/40 for the Intelligence Corps to be raised although one had previously existed by name during the First World War. The Badge was sometimes irreverently described as 'a pansy resting on its laurels' but it was based on the Rose as the emblem of secrecy while the Laurel sprays are standard garnishing for Military insignia. The Queen's Crown issue was made about 1956.
