Who Should Prepare the Plan?
lithe prospective owner is the only one involved in the business. he or she should prepare
the plan, with the advice and counsel of competent advisers. But if the business is to be
organized and run by more than one person, it should be a team effort. You might encourage each manager to prepare a part of the plan. We also recommend having other key
employees help in the planning stage, as this will improve communication and motivation.
Dennis Winans, director of Central California Small Business Center, said, “What we see
commonly is a lack of planning undercapitalization not doing enough research.”
