A rust fungus on Amorphophallus and a plant allied to Rhaphidophora (Araceae) from Thailand is identified as Puccinia paullula. Puccinia rhaphidophorae is concluded to be conspecific with P. paullula. Sori of the fungus are pseudosuprastomatal : sporogenous cells are substomatal and long-pedicellate spores emerge through the stoma. A rust fungus on Globba (Zingiberaceae) also forms pseudosuprastomatal sori: the sori originate, and are restricted in, the substomatal cavity. Short-pedicellate urediniospores or probasidia (teliospores) are pushed out through the stoma successively. The fungus is described and named as Maravalia pseudosuprastomatalis sp. nov.
