Sisaket Rajabhat University was aggrandized from Sisaket Rajabhat Institute that was established in 1997. It located on a municipal - public land of 840,925 square meters at Non Bak Ba, Pho, sub -district Mueang district, Si Sa Ket province. This is one of five of the first phase project in order to increase Rajabhat Institues of the office of Rajabhat Institues Council during the budget year of 1997 - 1999 by the resolution of the Council of Ministers on 29 April 1997. The establishment of Sisaket Rajabhat Institute is under the new regulations of Rajabhat Institute establishment. They are as follows:
1. It must be a province with lots of people.
2. It must be a province with lots of students, especially the students who graduate from secondary schools.
3. It must be a province that lacks higher educational institues.
4. It must be a province that has high potential as a centre of tourism and industry.
5. It must be a province that has available land for constructing.

24 June 1994.
Mr. Bunchong Wesommai, the member of parliament of Si Sa Ket sent a document entitled Asking for Approval to the Establishment of A Higher Educational Institute on A Public Land at Non Bak Ba

12 July 1994.
Mr. Bunchong Wesommai sent a document conccerning asking for approval to the establishment of a higher institute (Sisaket Rajabhat Institute) to the Ministry of Education.

25 November 1996.
The Ministry of Education sent a document no. Sor Thor 0335/18506, entitled The Establishment of An Added Rajabhat Institute to the Secretariat of the Cabinet.

29 April 1997.
The Cabinet approved the establishment of Sisaket Rajabhat Institute.

25 May 1999.
Sisaket Rajabhat Institute accepted the applications of the first - ordinary session students under the supervision of Surin Rajabhat Institute.

21 June 1999.
The opening of the first semester.

12 July 1999.
The Cabinet approved a draft of Royal Decree on the Establishment of Sisaket Rajabhat Institute.

20 July 1999.
The establishment of Sisaket Rajabhat Institute was declared in the Government Gazette vol. 118 part 59 kor.

21 July 1999.
Asst. Prof. Kanok Tosuratana was appointed to act on behalf of a president of Sisaket Rajabhat Institute.

1 November 1999.
The students under the supervision of Surin Rajabhat Institute were transfered to belong to Sisaket Rajabhat Institute.
