In 2003, Tesco extended its range of retail services further into telecoms with the announcement it was joining forces with mobile operator MMO2 to launch Tesco Mobile, a Tesco-branded mobile phone service. The 50-50 joint venture hope to attract up to two million customers within five years. Customer are able to claim clubcard points on allcalls. Later in 2003, the mobile service was joined by a discount fixed line service branded Tesco Home Phone, to compete head-on with British Telecom. A home broadband service was also launched in 2004 along with digital music sales and DVD rental services. In 2005, Tesco announced plans to offer clothing sales online.
