Church News: Local Churches Announce Upcoming Activities

Jerome United Methodist serves
as bus depot
The Jerome United Methodist Church is serving as the bus depot again this year. The bus arrives at the church headed for Camp Sawtooth north of Fairfield at 12 noon on Sundays. The youth travel from all over the Magic Valley in high anticipation of a week at camp. Each week a different age group attends. On August 5th, 6th, and 7th the Magic Valley Ministries Group Camp will convene at the camp. Please sign up at the Twin Falls Methodist church office -733-5872. On August 7th a Sunday church service will be held for members and guests at the Sawtooth Camp. Sign up at your local church or call the Twin Falls office.

Please note: For those who do not travel to the camp, services will be held at the Jerome Methodist Church at 211 S. Buchanan St. at 11a.m. All are welcome.

Prayer Partners Group meet Monday mornings at 10 a.m. in the parlor of the church. Anyone is welcome to come and join in prayer.

Every Wednesday the church participates in the Martha and Mary food bank from 5 to 7 p.m. This is a mission outreach activity and more help is always welcome. This is held at the Catholic Church. For more info. contact 324-3202.

Hollister Presbyterian Church Meeting in the Pines
The Hollister Presbyterian Church will be holding it’s annual Meeting in the Pines July 29-31 at Porcupine Springs loop B.

The campground is located 2 miles south of Magic Mountain Ski Resort. Camping is available but limited, please notify Chase and Brook Lanting if you are planning to camp. Water is not available at the campsite, so prepare accordingly. There will be a craft Sunday morning led by Jenni and Brook Lanting.

The Sunday potluck dinner will begin at 1:00 and will feature a variety of Dutch oven dishes. Those attending are asked to bring a salad or dessert, your own beverage and lawn chairs. Table service will be provided. Following the potluck dinner, there will be a worship service with special guest speaker Reverend Myran Glatz.

Women’s Ecumenical Brunch to be held
BURLEY – The Presbyterian Women’s Ecumenical Brunch will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at First Presbyterian Church, 2100 Burton Ave., in Burley.

There will be a special speaker, and a light brunch will be served. All women of the area are invited to attend and bring a friend.

Reservations are requested; contact Carleen at 208-436-5671, Kathy at 208-862-3340, or Gay at 208-678-2760. If any questions, call the church office at 208-678-5131.

Central Church of Christ to hold Vacation Bible School
RUPERT — The Central Church of Christ in Rupert will hold a Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8 through Aug. 11. Parents may register their children by calling 208-260-1653, or at the church building.

This year’s theme is “Superheros For God. All boys and girls from preschool to sixth grade are invited to attend. There will be singing, activities, snacks, and most importantly, learning about God. All events are free. Parents are welcome to sit in the audience and watch the activities.

The Central Church of Christ is at South Fourth and H streets, behind D.L. Evans Bank in Rupert.
