The levels of anthropogenic pollutants in the coastal sediments of the ASSBY were determined to evaluate the pollution load at ASSBY due to shipbreaking industries. As shown in Table 1, organic carbon, total nitrogen, and sulfur levels were found to be higher in polluted sediments than in the pristine sediment. In addition, other anthropogenic pollutants such as chromium, lead, zinc, iron, cadmium, and other metals as well as PAHs were also found to be higher in polluted sediments than in the pristine sediment. The concentration of iron was significantly higher in polluted sediments, specifically in DVBSD_D represented by 50,885 ppm.
