During the holidays, one of the most important things you can do for customers is to ship their orders on time. To keep tabs on your performance, don’t forget to review the following shipping-related metrics on a daily basis:
Pre-fulfillment Cancel Rate: This is the percentage of orders that are cancelled by the seller before ship-confirmation. A low rate may indicate that you are managing your inventory velocity well, which is key during the busy holiday season.
Late Shipment Rate: On-time delivery may also impact your customer satisfaction ratings. If you can't ship on time, consider modifying your estimated delivery times in your shipping settings for the holiday season. If you are having trouble with your Late Shipment Rate, consider using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) during the holiday season.
Order Defect Rate: An order has a defect if it has negative feedback, an A-to-z Guarantee claim, or a service credit card chargeback. We calculate this metric by dividing the number of orders with a defect by the total number of orders. Order defect rate is a key measure of your ability to provide a good customer experience.
You can find and monitor these critical metrics in your seller account by clicking on the Account Health option on the Performance tab. And if you haven’t watched our Holiday Selling Tips video series yet, you can check it out here.
