In this paper, we proposed an improved estimator of the finite population mean by utilizing information on two auxiliary
attributes in both SRS and two-phase sampling schemes. Bias and MSE expressions of proposed estimators, ^YHS and ^Y
HS, are
obtained under first order of approximation. It is worth mentioning that, both theoretically and numerically, the proposed
estimator always performs better than all estimators considered here under SRS. Also the proposed estimator outperforms
the Malik and Singh [14] estimator and other estimators when estimating the finite population mean in two-phase sampling.
Based on these findings, we recommend the use of the proposed estimators for efficient estimation of population mean in
presence of the auxiliary attributes in SRS and two-phase sampling schemes.
