The crystal structure consists of one bromobismuthate [BiBr6]3-, two independent nitrate (NO3-) anions halves, and two crystallographically independent trans-2,5-dimethylpiperazine-1,4-diium cation linked via simple and bifurcated N–HBr (O) and C–HBr (O) hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. The presence of functional groups was established by FT-IR
studies. Molecular structure of the grown crystal was studied by 13C NMR spectroscopy and shows a good agreement between the number of 13C CP-MAS lines and
the crystallographic data.
