The industrial sidetrack test process is shown in Fig. 3. The mixture of the high-temperature EDW (approximately100 C) from heat exchanger B and the low-temperature EDW (approximately50 1C) from the water cooler was fed into the centrifugal contactor. In the spinning rotor, the EDW was separated into the heavy and light phases, i.e., PWW and SWO, which respectively exited through the heavy-and light-phase exits. The temperature was adjusted by changing the flow rates of the two EDWs. The rotor speed was controlled using an inverter. The experimental apparatus is shown in Fig. 4.
