The data came from a cross-sectional population-based
survey entitled ‘Health Survey for São Paulo’ (HS), which
used a random sample of urban area residents of the city of
São Paulo, Brazil. This study, a subsample of HS, used data
from 532 individuals of both sexes, of which 428 were adults
aged 20 to 59 years and 104 were elderly individuals aged 60
years or more (Figure 1).
