Some 100 Myanmar workers at a construction site in Phuket's Thalang district held a protest on Saturday morning after a Thai foremen allegedly put a cutter knife to a Myanmar worker's neck on Friday night.
The protest in Soi Khok Tanote started at 10am but dispersed less than an hour later when Cherng Thalae Police brought together both sides to investigate what happened.
The initial police investigation found that the incident stemmed from the 25-year-old worker being pushed out of a queue while waiting to complete the day's work.
The foreman thought the worker had tried to cut into the line and the alleged assault occurred.
Police had the worker file a police complaint so legal action could being.
