P. stipitis KCCM 12009 was used for the ethanol fermentation.
The cells were maintained on YM agar plates at 4 C and transferred
monthly. The YM agar consisted of 10.0 g/l of glucose,
3.0 g/l of yeast extract, 3.0 g/l of malt extract, 5.0 g/l of peptone,
and 20.0 g/l of agar. Seed culture was performed in 250-ml Erlenmeyer
flasks containing 80 ml of YM broth for 28–36 h at 30 C.
