The collection vehicles are in a state of disrepair in most cities of Nigeria. There is inadequate service coverage in most urban areas and in rural areas there is no collection. Rural dwellers have no access to waste collection service. They dump waste at any vacant plot, public space, and river or burn it in their backyard, thereby polluting the air. Less than 60% of (MSW) generated is collected in developing countries (Ogwueleka, 2003)
