The tensile strength and elongation at break of the
PANI(DBSA)/PVA blend films are investigated and plotted
as a function of PANI wt% (shown in Fig. 6). From Fig. 6,
it is evident that the tensile strength depends strongly on the
PANI content. Because PANI is known to be a very rigid
material, the tensile strength of the PANI blends was maintained
as the concentration of PANI increased up to 5%.
With over 5% of PANI, the rigid or brittle characteristics of pristine PANI become dominant; as a result, above 5% of
PANI the tensile strength of the PANI blend decreases substantially.
