22. Outside the large accounting firms, there is a lack of local persons with the
capacity to produce IFRS-compliant financial statements, which may be required
for group reporting purposes or for lenders. Companies are required only to submit
annual financial statements to the MOF Taxation Department. These financial statements
are prepared in accordance with the Lao Accounting System. Local accountants are
familiar with this System. These annual financial statements are not necessarily subject to
