Describe any limits you might have on your au pair inviting friends, visitors or overnight guests to your home. AP must ask for our permission before having visitors or overnight guests. We will be asking about the character and personality of the visitor before she/he visits. AP may not have visitors while she is on duty with the baby or when we are not home, unless we know the person and have given permission. We know many of Natty's friends, because we trust Natty, we trust her choice in friends as well. They are other au pairs. One au pair brings her host children to visit, or Natty will bring Michael to hang out with them.
Please outline any curfews or household rules you would like your au pair to follow. We can discuss more house rules with the AP later, but in general we: - expect our AP to be neat, tidy, organized, and punctual. She will need to clean her room and bathroom and do our laundry on a regular basis. We have laundry machines she can use at home. - cannot make international calls from the house phone or cell phone if we are providing one. - Never tell strangers where she lives or have a stranger driver her home. - Never text or use the phone when she is driving. Texting while driving is against the law in New Jersey. - We will have a car she can use, and we will discuss rules around the use of cars. - Be careful what she puts on top of furniture, and do not stain, scratch floors, furniture, or walls. - Not be loud or listen to loud music or television at home or at night. - No smoking or doing drugs; no excessive drinking (and absolutely no drinking while caring for the baby)
