The effects of varying knife edge angles from 15° to 40°
in 5° increments on the cutting force and cutting energy were
determined at fixed knife oblique and shear angles of 0° and
90°, respectively. Next, the effects of varying knife oblique
angles from 0° to 30° in 10° increments on the cutting force
and cutting energy were determined at fixed knife edge and
shear angles of 20° and 90°, respectively. Finally, the effects
of varying knife shear angles from 60° to 90° in 10° increments
on the cutting force and cutting energy were determined
at fixed knife edge and oblique angles of 20°.
