Rational food consumers are in a leading position in case of seven functional food categories, which indicates the commitment of the segment to healthy lifestyle (positive health behavior).
They are followed by the conservative and the adventurous consumers who, albeit for different reasons (health protection, curiosity, for adventure), relatively often buy functional foods; their behavioral pattern can be characterized as having greater consciousness.
The careless and uninvolved consumers share the last places in most of the categories.
The difference was found significant in each of the cases at p 6 0.001 level.
