To our knowledge, there are no reports that detail the antioxidant
activities of water and ethanol extracts produced from the
dried fruits of GJE. Therefore, our goal was to evaluate the antioxidant
properties of GJE fruit extracts by analysing the total phenolic
and flavonoid contents, synthetic free radical (such as DPPH andABTS) -scavenging activity, hydroxyl and superoxide free radicalscavenging
activities, nitrite-scavenging activity, inhibition of
linoleic acid oxidation, and the reducing power (Fe3+–Fe2+) and
superoxide dismutase-like (SOD-like) as well as catalase activities.
