Did you know that, as of 2009, 26% of all children under 5 years old in the US are Hispanic?
This undergraduate-level course is designed to provide early childhood educators with basic knowledge about Latino culture and Spanish language necessary to communicate with parents and students on a basic level. Students will explore the culture of the monolingual population. They will also learn and practice vocabulary and phrases necessary to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and parents.
Spanish for Early Childhood Educators is relevant for all teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators working in today’s changing educational landscape. No previous Spanish language experience is required. University admission is not required.
