Lysozymes play an important role
in the defense of fish by inducing antibacterial activity in the presence
of a complement (Harikrishnan et al., 2012b). Phagocytosis is one of
the main mediators of innate immunity to pathogens, while respiratory
burst is also a crucial effector mechanism for limiting the growth of fish
pathogens (Divyagnaneswari et al., 2007).
