the potato slices: (a) tuber cut from the center; (b) two potato slices were
cut using an electrical slice machine keeping in mind the adjoining face of
each pair; (c) standardizing of the diameter of slices using a cylindrical
cutter; (d) the final chips pair; (e) orienting the originally adjoining
surfaces for imaging. Each member of the pair was treated with a different
pretreatment (one slice was soaked in water, the other in a NaCl solution).
