were operated at around 1 pm when heating energy demand was
low. And two units of the HP, two units of the GB (151 and 186 kW) and one unit of the AR (100 USRT) were found to be in operation
simultaneously in the morning and the evening when demand was
relatively high (Fig. 8(e)).
For this analysis, the 1770th calculation case out of calculations
in the total of 10,000 times was selected as the case for the optimal design. Table 7 shows the primary energy consumption on the
representing day of each season for the optimal design and the
empirical design. When compared with the empirical design, the
optimal design in this study was found to reduce the entire primary energy consumption for each season by 20–30% or more. The
initial cost and the operation cost for equipment system were not
included in this study. However, it is reckoned that the technique
from this study can be used for design of building design system that
reduces the primary energy consumption. In addition, the optimal
design showed the very strong effect of reduction of cooling energy
consumption in the summer and heating energy consumption in
the winter. And it was found that the primary energy consumption
for electric and hot water heating was not influenced by weather
and that the effect of energy consumption reduction was relatively
small.
