In the commercial handling and transportation of table grapes, grapes are usually packed in small cardboard cartons containers with standard size ‘‘30 · 50’’ (that is 30 · 50 cm2 in the base, and 16 cm in height) and ‘‘40 · 50’’ (meaning 40 · 50 cm2 in the base, and 12 cm in height) both containing 8.2 kg of grapes. The carton undergoes a first chilling process that quickly drops the temperature inside the carton to 0 C after which, temperature is recommended to remain below 3 C during storage and transport to destiny.
