The table above presents the evidence from these studies on the validity of the GEFT according to these 3 criterion variables.
The correlations between GEFT and the EFT are reasonably high, particularly for men. Correlations between GEFT and PRFT fall toward the lower end of the range of correlations between GEFT and ABC are substantial, particularly for male subjects, and are generally comparable with those that have been reported for the EFT.
The combined evidence suggests that the GEFT may prove to be a useful substitute for the EFT when individual testing is impractical. It must still be considered a research instrument, however, until more extensive direct and construct validation data are collected from a wider variety of groups. As such studies accumulate, they will be included in future editions of this manual.
