With that in mind, up/down preference data from both experiment were also entered into a log-linear analysis with Experiment (1 vs. 2) and preference (upward vs. downward) as the variables.
The 4-way log-linear analysis produced a final model that retained only the effect of preference v2(1) = 8.53, p < .01. The likelihood ratio of this model was v2(2) = .24, p = .89, indicating that it provided a good fit to the data. The participants were 1.32 times more likely to prefer the triangle pointing downward as compared to upward.
