Dear Mr. Cane This letter is written in the form that is known as block style. You will Body d notice that all parts of the letter, including date, inside address, salutation, paragraphs, complimentary closing, and signature lines, begin at the left mar- gin. Also, there are no punctuation marks such as a colon or comma after the salutation(Dear Mr. Cane) or after the closing(Sincerely yours). The block letter style shown here with unpunctuated salutation and closing is one of the preferred styles of letters because it decreases the amount of time it takes for typing. In this example the left and right margins are approximately equal, and the top and bottom margins are also ncarly equal. I am enclosing additional examples, Please let me know if you would like any other information on appearance of business communications, Sincerely yours Priscilla Fontana Writing Consultant PF/nb
