This is a language question. I’ve noticed before, but it seemed more obvious in the breakup talk. Did Aim and Phun speak of each other in the third person. I thought I heard “Aim” instead of “I” and “Phun” instead of “you”. Ditto for Phun. Was I miss-hearing, or is this a characteristic of Thai grammar?

It depends on who you’re talking to. Often times, Thais use their own name when referring to themselves instead of a generic I pronoun. There’s a different kind of closeness when it is used. Noh does the same thing with Yuri when he has conversations with her.
