An additional issue is that the efficiency of the work of project
managers is limited regardless of the changing project conditions.
Within the context of recurrent activities for similar construction
projects, many efforts on the part of project managers are repeated.
For example, the planning and scheduling process for the execution
of a construction project is repeated starting from scratch each
time. Even if relevant past experiences can provide guidance, this
knowledge remains with the responsible person and is not accessible
to other colleagues or project participants. Once the knowledge
is stored, additional functionality can be appended to support an
effective planning process. Within the context of reuse, the simple
storing of cost or time characteristic values in a database would enable
the linkage between the execution processes and value constants.
Stored values could easily be reused in other projects
where similar processes occur.
