Here is a cool story, keeping in mind it was raining for three days straight. Yesterday (Sunday), we had a baptism scheduled for the other mission companionship. First, let me give you a little Thai culture insight. When it rains, EVERYTHING shuts down (phones are off, streets are empty, and everyone bunkers in). With that being said, it was raining pretty hard yesterday morning before church (the perfect excuse not to come to church and possibly not being able to hold the baptism at the river). However, that was not the case with these faithful Church members and investigators in the Diamond Wall. We had Church members and investigators congregate for church. Some entered the meethinghouse drenched because they rode their motorbikes from many kilos away. As we were wrapping up church and getting ready to start the baptismal service, the rain outside started to lighten up until eventually it stopped. We were not deterred from having a baptism and the service ran smoothly as planned and prayed for. I was glad to see a tender mercy from heaven. I think some of us can hear of or even experience an event like this and accredit it to chance, whim, or some other random imagination. I believe that when one recognizes the Lord's hand in the details of life, life becomes more enjoyable. I hope I can keep that frame of mind my whole life.
