This chapter first describes mycotoxin contamination of raw feed materials, mixed feeds and concentrates. Thereafter potential animal health risks are discussed addressing all major farm animal species, fish and pet animals. Finally, the carry-over of mycotoxins into animal-derived food products, such as milk, eggs and meat, by mycotoxins is presented and the risk for human consumers that is associated with such residues is explained. The last part of this chapter is devoted to the current legal provisions and the methods to control the level of feed contamination by mycotoxins.
