Chinese food comes from china and japanese food comes from japan. But seriously, china is much larger country than japan so the variety of foods they have is much larger. Chinese foods may include roast duck, roast pork, fried rice, dim sum(steamed dumplings), and stir frys. I heard somewhere that the poorer communities of china cook their foods with steam(water) and the richer communities could afford to use fats and oils for frying.
