The political structure in Thailand is very different, yet also very similar to that of America. In America there is no figurehead as there is in Thailand. This is because America has never had kings in the past like Thailand has. America also has a Senate and a House of Representatives, like that of Thailand. The Senate and House of Thailand, on the other hand, have vastly different roles than that of the American Senate and House. America’s president is relatively similar to the Prime Minister of Thailand in the way that they can come up with laws for their countries. America’s president, however, must go to the House and Senate and have a majority vote for the law to pass. The Prime Minister of Thailand does not necessarily need to have the Senate or House vote on whether or not the law should be passed, he can just pass it on his own. Even though Thailand has a vastly different political system than America, there are still similarities that can be found if you just use your head and search.
