The next logical step in establishing specific evidence for this potentially important therapy is to conduct a randomized controlled trial testing Hatha Yoga against a control group of enhanced usual care, Which includes the standard recommendation for structured exercise, and against usual care (our waitlist group). While yoga has been successfully trialed for breast cancer survivors, an intervention and subsequent analysis through a randomized , appropriately powered investigation for women outside of the chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatment period and inclusive of all subgroups of breast cancer survivors is necessary. Long-term follow up is an important information in order to determine the long term efficacy of this intervention . These large- scale investigations that will provide critically needed information for clinicians caring for breast cancer survivors have not been conducted.
