Therefore, we inferred that the first group contained a
mixture of E. sinensis and E. japonica. Then, we conducted further
sequencing analysis of the first seed group to identify them to
species. Samples giving two and three bands were E. sinensis and
E. japonica, respectively (data not shown). Finally, we confirmed
that our new PCR-RFLP method could distinguish E. sinensis from
E. japonica. As the first group containing both E. sinensis and E.
japonica could not be released, we carried out RCR-RFLP to identify
the second group thought to be E. sinensis. Samples from the second
group generated all three bands, and we therefore ascertained that
all samples were E. sinensis
