Result from the survey clearly indicates that students used both the emotion-focused
and problem-focused strategies. For instance, the most frequently used strategy by students
was an emotion-focused strategy (i.e. Supplication (praying or doa) with a mean of 2.53 (SD
= 0.83) and followed by a problem-focused strategy (i.e. trying to analyse the problem in order
to understand it better with a mean of 2.31, SD= 0.72). Also, the students have selected a
combination of four emotion-focused strategies and six problem- focused strategies as the top
ten self-regulation strategies in dealing with stressful learning episodes
