The Indian subcontinent’s civilization is one of the oldest in the world. It has had a cultural continuity and has also had a great impact over most of Asia and this can be traced back to the history itself. The contribution to Southeast Asia’s culture comes mainly from trade route and commercial contacts. This lead to a transformation of tribal societies found in Southeast Asia to a number of kingdoms where a lot of Indian elements like religion, language, kingships and others were adopted. As Buddhism spread to East Asia and Southeast Asia, the Indian art style had a profound impact over the cultures of Nepal, Tibet, China, Korea and others. It is because of these that the entire region of Asia shares a lot of commonality among them.
