The sutures are tied with the knee in full extension and the knee is ranged under
lateral fluoroscopy to ensure stability of the construct. A bump is then placed beneath the ankle to maintain knee extension and, after joint irrigation, retinacular defects are repaired using #2 Ethibond (Ethicon; Somerville, NY) or #2 Fiberwire (Arthrex; Naples, FL) sutures in a figure-ofeight fashion. Final fluoroscopic images are obtained. The use of a drain and closure of subcutaneous tissues and skin are based on surgeon preference.
