Freshly harvested seeds of okra cv. Hisar Unnat were procured from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana.
The seeds were divided into 19 lots; each lot comprised of 900
seeds. Hydropriming (3 treatments), osmopriming (6 treatments),
halopriming (6 treatments) and solid matrix (SM) priming (3 treatments) were employed. Thus, the seeds were subjected to 18
different pre-sowing treatments (P1–P18) and one untreated lot of
seeds served as the control (P0). The lab experiment was conducted
in triplicate in randomized block design. The details of methods
and treatments with their respective codes are given in Table 1. The
treated seeds were wiped and air dried to achieve the original moisture content i.e. 8%, packed in laminated aluminium foil pouches
and stored in medium-term storage module at 4
◦
C temperature
and 30 ± 2% relative humidity until further used
