As he signed off on his recommendation for the bonus distribution, Solvik thought about the
approach they had taken toward the implementation. “Total systems replacement for $15 million in
nine months, who would have thought we could do it?” He tried to think about the decisions he and
the team had made during the course of the implementation. What factors had made the difference
between success and failure? Where had they been smart? Where had they been just plain lucky?
Could they do it again if they had to?
