3. Experimental details
The subject of research were cutting inserts made of LCC with NMC developed for dry machining, high speed machining and machining of workpieces made of
hardened steel and hard-to-machining alloys. Investigation of crystal-chemical properties of LCC with NMC was carried out using SEM microscope
JSM-6700F with a prefix for energy-dispersive spectrometry (EMF) JED-2300F by JEOL company. Content and structure of compositions "carbide -
ceramics", "coating - ceramics" were also investigated.
Experimental samples made of LCC cutting inserts
(form SNUN with nose radius r = 0,8 mm) have been
produced and divided into 2 groups, the first was used
for researches of physical-mechanical and crystalchemical
properties, the second - for cutting tests.
The cutting tools equipped with inserts made of LCC
with NMC and standard cutting tool materials had
following value of geometrical parameters of the tool
cutting part: rake angle
