The highest rates were observed using 2.5–3.0 g l1, while the
highest yields after 24 h with initial substrate concentration of
2.5 g l1 (91–93%). Preparative biotransformation was carried out
on 200 ml scale with an enzymatic extract containing 78–82 mg
of total protein starting from 500 mg of substrate: after 24 h a
90–92% molar conversion was determined by analytical means.
Pure vanillylamine hydrochloride (191 mg) was recovered after
purification.
