between its components [10,11]. On the
other hand, TDTC has the following special features:
(1) very soluble in water, much more so
than the corresponding ammonium salt [12]; (2)
slight solubility of its chelates [13]; (3) stable to
a considerable extent toward gently heating in
the weakly acidic medium; (4) much less oxidizable
than other dithiocarbamates, hence, precipitation
in the absence of any accompanying
redox reaction. Accordingly it was chosen as the
precipitant.
